Meet Denali! Denali was found as a stray with her brother Camden and transferred to our rescue from an overburdened rural shelter. She is 1-2 years old and around 38 lbs. We are not sure of her mix as she is very petite and she can jump very high! Denali is very smart and is picking up basic obedience quickly. While she has a high energy level due to her age and lack of training, she is also an amazing snuggler after she has been exercised well. She has spent a lot of her time with us in boarding due to lack of foster homes, however she has been with a foster for a few months now and is a lot calmer. Denali spent a lot of time in boarding/shelters and has an aversion to the crate. She does not like being in it at all but has also shown some destructive tendencies when left out. We are working on some training and decreased anxiety in the crate right now, but feel the best home for her would be one where someone works from home or would be home with her for most of the day. She does well if she is crated for less than 6 hours at a time. She has been in a foster home with cats but she does have periods of high energy- followed by periods of calm time and snuggles- so any adopters with cats should make sure their cat can tolerate high-energy dogs before considering Denali. She does well with other dogs, but again the dogs must tolerate her during those high-energy times as well. She can be a lot at first but those periods of time do not last long. Denali thrives in homes with other dogs and lots of time in the yard to play with her friends!
