If you're looking for a smart, energetic, and loyal companion, Callie may just be your perfect match! Callie is a two-year-old, 42-pound Shepherd/Pitbull/Collie mix. Callie is the type of dog who loves to be surrounded by her people. Whether it's lounging on the couch after a fun play session or keeping a close eye on the backyard (because, you know, squirrels must be chased), she's content as long as she's by your side. She's also a fan of training, especially when there's a treat involved! She has been working hard at learning to train with a clicker and has already shown us that she's a smart cookie who catches on quickly. She would love a family who enjoys teaching her new tricks and can continue her training. Callie is a social butterfly with just a few boundaries! She gets along well with dogs but is a bit selective, and definitely not a fan of cats. She really enjoys going to doggy daycare at Camp Bow Wow, but she'd do best in a home where she is an only dog, or a home where introductions to new dog friends are slow and steady. Because she's still young and energetic, we think she'd do best in a home with an active person or older kids who can match her playfulness and help her continue learning her manners. Callie is a playful, active girl who would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard (because, as mentioned, squirrels don't stand a chance!). She loves running, chewing on a bone and licking up some peanut butter, but most of all, she'd love to be part of your family! The Details: House-trained: Yes! Crate-trained: Absolutely. Sleep habits: Callie sleeps through the night in her crate like a champ. Likes: Training, chewing on toys, snuggling, fetching her favorite orange ball, and close cuddles Dislikes: Cats (no surprise there, given her squirrel-chasing tendencies), sharing toys with other doggy friends Callie's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Callie, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved.
