River was brought to the shelter after she had given birth to her litter of kittens on the porch of a bar. She was placed in a foster home so she could continue to care for her kittens. Her babies have since been adopted so now River is just waiting her turn to find a home! She is about 4 years old. River desperately wants to be sweet, but she is so scared here at the shelter. This poor girl tries to hide when people are around, but if you spend some time with her, she will eventually start giving shy head butts and she loves chin scratches. While River likes to be gently loved on, she does not like to be picked up. She would do best in a calm and quiet home. River would likely do well with older children and she does not seem to be the biggest fan of other animals, but would probably be okay with low energy cats/dogs who would not be all up in her space. River hopes to find the perfect family who will spend time with her and love her no matter what!
