ALFIE (Twin of Arlo) DOB: 05/23/2025 Male, 1 lb. Alfie is one of two identical twin boys (Arlo is his twin brother) who came to us on the day that they were born along with their sister who did not survive the ride to us. Born outside on 05/23/25, their mother was scared away while giving birth when the resident dog came upon her in the bushes and barked and scared her away. The three newborns were left under the bushes with umbilical cords wrapped around one another when the homeowner put the dog in the house and put them in a blanket back under the bushes hoping the mother cat would return. Several hours went by and it was getting colder and dark. The homeowner knew that they would not survive much longer outside alone without food or warmth. She called PetPromise and she brought the three very cold and very weak kittens to us wrapped in a heated blanket. Alfie’s sister passed away after arriving and we all held our breath for two days as Alfie & Arlo struggled to hold their temperature and to learn to latch on to a bottle. After 48 hours the boys started to show signs of strength. It has been a long road of feeding 24 hours a day every 2 hours. But Alfie and his twin Arlo are so worth it. (We rescued a mother kitty Chloe who had a 4 week old kitten and though the kittens weren’t able to latch, she became a surrogate Mom and helped clean and care for these two orphans while we kept them fed and warm (and they love her). These boys are now both doing great! Alfie is a little heavier than Arlo but he is the softer/gentler one of the two. He stands back and waits for his turn at the bottle even though he is hungry…and he drinks very softly and is a sweet little boy (that looks like a little bear cub.) He loves people and calls out to any person he sees because he knows that somehow they are his Mom too because they feed him. He is a round pudgy little ball of fur that is going to make a wonderful best friend and perfect family member for someone. Alfie will be fully vaccinated and neutered before he is adopted. --- If you are interested in learning more about this sweet kitty, please complete an online adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046 We do not have a shelter or sanctuary. All pets are cared for in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. We require a home visit as part of the application process. We are only able to coordinate home visits where we have local volunteers. All of the cats in our care and available for adoption have been rescued from shelters, the streets or from neglect or abuse situations. We do our best to determine the given breed or breeds of any cat or kitten in our program based on our experience and advice of professionals. NOTE: PetPromise requires that young kittens be adopted in pairs unless you have an existing kitten or young cat at home. This policy is intended to ensure that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development. Most rescue groups have similar policies regarding kittens. Click here to learn more about why this is important: http://petpromise.org/singlekitten Also, PetPromise requires all pets be spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated before adoption. However, if you are interested in a particular kitten you may apply to adopt the kitten and once approved, you may enter into a Foster to Adopt Agreement whereby you agree to foster the kitten for PetPromise until PetPromise has the kitten fully vaccinated and spayed. Once the vet care is complete an official adoption will be completed.
