Pope was brought to the shelter after he was removed from a condemned home along with 12 other cats. He is about 2 years old. Pope is a bit of an odd guy. Obviously, he did not come from a great situation. We could not find him in the house, so we had to catch him with a live trap. The first couple of days at the shelter, Pope hated his life and and he really hated us. He eventually calmed down a lot and then he started being too friendly. He would be super sweet to us when we would be petting him, but then he would swat at us after a bit. It did not seem to be in a mean way, almost like he was trying to play but did not understand how to. Now, he is pretty mellowed out and even a little shy toward us. Pope is a bit of an enigma to us, but he is really trying his best to be a sweet boy. He is also super handsome and beyond cute when he is playing with toys. Pope should do well in a home with other cats and dogs. We do recommend he not go somewhere with small children in case he decides he wants to be in his swatting phase again. Pope is looking for a patient family who will give him plenty of time and love and will work with him and his funny little moods!
