She is currently in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS where she was rescued. She is excited to schedule a virtual visit to meet you! Meet Butterfly – a 2-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart as big as her smile and a name that suits her perfectly. This joyful, spayed sweetheart is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, and is available for out-of-state transport to an approved adopter. Just like her name implies, Butterfly moves through life with a light, bright energy that’s impossible to resist. She’s always ready to chase a tennis ball, show off her favorite rope toy, or simply soak up the sunshine. Her playful personality shines through in everything she does, and she brings joy to everyone lucky enough to meet her. Butterfly isn’t just fun—she’s also incredibly smart and curious. She learns quickly, especially when treats or praise are involved, and loves having a job to do. Her foster family is helping her work on polite greetings (she can’t help but get excited when meeting new people!), and she’s responding beautifully to gentle, consistent guidance. She’s also a total gem with other dogs—respectful of their boundaries, happy to play when they’re up for it, and equally content just hanging out and relaxing alongside them. Whether romping in the yard or lounging around the house, Butterfly is happy just being part of the pack. After a good play session, Butterfly transforms into a cuddly lovebug. She’ll melt into your lap for belly rubs and snuggles, content just being close to her people. Whether you’re up for a backyard adventure or a cozy movie night, she’s your girl. Butterfly is house-trained, crate-trained, and rides well in the car. She’s still working on her leash manners, so a patient, confident adopter who can continue her training will help her thrive. A moderately active home with a fenced yard would be ideal—she loves to run and play! She would thrive with a friendly canine companion but could also do great as a solo dog, as long as she’s given lots of love, attention, and outdoor time. Butterfly hasn’t had experience with cats or young children, so a cat-free home with respectful kids aged 10+ would be best.
