Meet Rusty – Your Short King of big Fun! Hi there! I’m Rusty, a 4-year-old compact adventurer with the soul of a goofball and the legs of a corgi linebacker. The rescue says I’m a Black Mouth Cur/Shepherd mix, but let’s be honest—I’m basically a 50lb baked potato with legs and a heart of gold. Don’t let my age fool you—I’ve still got the zoomies, and my favorite games are keep away, chase, and making you laugh while I do zoomies like I’m being chased by a squirrel that owes me money. I’m short, stocky, and surprisingly fast for a guy built like a gym bro who skips leg day (ironic, I know). I’m: - Neutered - Heartworm negative - Fully vaccinated and microchipped - Potty trained and crate trained like a champ - Very proud of my perfect house manners in foster care I love other dogs my size or bigger (boys or girls, I’m not picky!), but I’d also be perfectly content being your one and only. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I might be a bit much for your average feline roommate. Think of me as the fun uncle who means well but accidentally knocks over a lamp just by entering the room. I’m not cut out for apartment life—I need a fenced yard where I can stretch these little legs and show off my “low center of gravity meets NASCAR” energy. I’m good in the car (no drama here!) and love being included in your daily plans. Walks? Yes please. Long hikes? Ehh… maybe if there’s snacks at the top. I’d thrive with an active person, couple, or family with kids over 10 (I’m just a bit too bouncy for the littlest humans). I promise to be your funny, loyal, slightly ridiculous sidekick in all things fun and wholesome. So if you’re looking for a short-legged bundle of love, laughs, and liveliness—Rusty’s your guy. Rusty is currently being fostered in Texas but available to transport to approved adopter in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada. Adoption fee includes vaccinations, Spay/Neuter, microchip, deworming, heartworm test, transport and vet/documentation requirements in preparation for transport.
