We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Handsome puppy Bear is an intact 5-month-old male Border Collie mix, currently weighing around 25 lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Puppies under 6 months of age are placed on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered. Bear is a loving, playful pup with a heart full of curiosity and cuddles! He's smart, eager to learn, and always on the lookout for his next big adventure. Bear gets along great with other dogs and adores kids—he’s the perfect playmate! Bear can often be found cuddling up with his foster mom, or his doggy foster siblings! He hasn't met a friend he doesn't like. His sweet and gentle nature constantly shines through, and he would love to give you all his warmth and affection in return for a wonderful forever home to call his own. Bear has even met some cat friends, and after some polite introductory sniffs, he let them be while he went off to continue his adventures elsewhere. We always recommend slow introductions to cats, but we suspect he would also do well in a home with resident cats. While he’s still young and mastering potty training, he's making great progress. He has already mastered the art of chew toys, and loves to entertain himself with his pile of toys. He also enjoys doing the zoomies with other dogs, and would love a playmate. With a little patience and a lot of love, Bear is going to make an amazing best friend for one lucky family, who we hope will provide him with regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment. For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away, as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home longer than 4 hours, please explain who will be available to spend time with this puppy while you are away. If that information is not included, we cannot consider your application. NOTE: $100 OF YOUR ADOPTION DONATION WILL BE REFUNDED AFTER YOU SHOW PROOF OF FUTURE SPAY/NEUTER. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
