We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Dolly, 5.5 years old, spayed female, Pitbull Terrier, 65 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and is ready to transport out of State once an adopter is approved!! Dolly is the definition of resilient and loving. Originally adopted as a puppy from a Houston-area shelter in 2021, she was heartbreakingly found as a stray at the end of 2024—returned to the very same shelter. Sadly, during those years, someone docked her ears. Despite that rough patch, Dolly remains one of the gentlest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Now in a safe, nurturing foster home, Dolly is truly blossoming. She gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in the house and absolutely adores people. Whether it’s cuddling under a blanket, curling up at your feet, or offering full-body hugs, she’s always close by, ready to love. Dolly is housebroken, rides like a dream in the car, and walks beautifully on leash. She’s a mellow, low-key girl at heart—but she still gets joyful zoomies and has the stamina for walks, outdoor time, or little bursts of play. Her favorite pastimes include chewing on antlers or nylabones, giving gentle kisses, and quietly soaking up all the love she can get. Dolly also shares her home with young children and is absolutely wonderful with them. She’s calm, patient, and gentle—soaking up all the attention, belly rubs, and love they give her. Her sweet-natured, easygoing temperament makes her a fantastic family companion who’s just as happy playing with the kids as she is snoozing nearby while they read or watch TV. She’s not a fan of the vacuum or thunderstorms (who is?), but she’ll calmly seek out her humans for comfort. And while she has no interest in swimming, she’ll happily sneak in a kiss if you’ve just gotten out of the pool! Dolly is truly a gem—affectionate, calm, loyal, and low-maintenance. She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people and bring a sense of peace and love to their lives. If you’re looking for a steady, soulful companion with a heart of gold, Dolly is ready to meet you.
