** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery** This cute little guy is the lovable, Strider. Strider and his brother Higgins were found as stray kittens and taken care of by a kind person until we had room for them at the shelter. This cute duo has an estimated birthdate of 5/8/25, so they're about 12 weeks old. Strider is the more quiet and cuddly of the two brothers, and he lets his brother think that he's the boss. These cute boys have been spending time with older kitties and running loose in our kitty playpen and they're learning how to "cat" with the bigger kitties. This is great for their socialization skills, and it helps little Higgins realize that maybe he isn't the boss after all! These two cuties love nothing more than running around the playplen, scaling the cat tree, playing with every toy in site (the current favorite being a ball tower), wrestling around with each other, and then crashing out for a great cat nap! These boys are great kitties and will make wonderful additions to any home. It's not a requirement that they be adopted together, but it would be ideal if it's possible for you to do so. Kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than single kittens, plus two lives are saved instead of one! Kittens adopted in pairs have less behavioral issues, and are happier and more well adjusted long term. They would fit in great in a home with other kitties, and being so young, they would do fine in a home with a gentle, cat friendly dog. They would do great with kids too. Just remember that these guys are still tiny so care must be taken to protect them from being stepped on, or accidentally injured by a child or other animal.
