Meet Loki ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Loki is a neutered, 1 year old male Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing around 60lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. Loki is a big sweetheart with just enough of his namesake’s mischievousness to keep you entertained! This big guy is a huge fan of tug toys and squeaky plushies, but Kongs are his favorite! He really enjoys a high energy romp with the other dogs in the home, followed by cuddles and belly rubs from his humans. When Loki is excited, he does a "prance" like he’s part puppy, part parade pony. He does a playful spin when you grab the leash and has the silliest little happy hop when he sees another dog friend! And his tail? It curls like a swirl on an ice cream cone—or a cinnamon bun. It’s the cutest thing ever! He is still mastering his leash and puppy manners, and will benefit from consistent training and positive reinforcement. He is crate and potty trained, and shares food and toys with no issues. He will do best in a high-energy, loving home where he is stimulated physically, mentally and emotionally. He needs a family or individual who can provide daily walks and lots of affection. A fenced yard would be a bonus for zoomies and outdoor play, or daily active neighborhood strolls. He’d do best with another playful dog to bond with and help burn off that puppy energy. While he’s great with children, he’d be happiest with older kids or respectful young teens who understand boundaries and can match his enthusiastic personality.
