Shine
Adult • Female • Medium
Shine is an older lady approximately 9 years old. We are looking for a special home for Shine. Because Shine does not do well with other cats. So we assume she wouldn't do well with dogs either. Of course probably not good with young kids. Older kids who understand to not bother her, might be ok. Our thoughts for Shine is obviously she would be the only pet, in a quiet, not active home. She enjoys people's company but on her terms. She would need time to build a relationship with her person. You couldn't push it because she won't have that. She will swat. And sometimes it's unannounced. Meaning she will be allowing pets and all of a sudden swat you. So as I said this girl needs a special person to give her space, patience and time. We have grown to love Shine very much but keeping her at the shelter is unfair. She has been with us for about a year now. She was a little easier and friendly in the beginning. She had an adoption and they had another cat, they failed at listening to our instructions on cat introductions which resulted in Shine being returned to us. And it broke her heart. She was perfect in the home though and with the people. They said she was accepting of love and no swatting. That was months ago though and she has deteriated further. When she was returned, she was so shut off to us and didn't accept us at all. It took time to get back to where we are now. Which we feel she likes to see us, enjoys human company, she likes to play, and will allow attention but when she initiates it. She rubs our faces, will lay in our lap. But then sometimes will just flip her behavior and swat us. We know there is a loving cat in her. She requires the right person to bring it out. Could that be you?
