Bader and her siblings came to CDC a little over 3 years ago. She was very shy at first and slowly became a "normal" care. She lets us pet her, hold her, etc. She is very quiet. In Jan 2022 she became quite ill and after multiple test and treatments, the vet was not optimistic about her future thinking that she would be around for only a few more months. At that time, the decision was made to remove her from our list of adoptable cats, and provide supportive care as needed. She seemed to heal and was not behaving ill at all. She continued to be a great cat and in July we repeated labwork and her results and prognosis per the veterinarian are as follows: "Her bloodwork overall looks great. She has a mild (but improved) no - regenerative anemia. We don’t have an answer why, but it is abnormal. But still so much improved! I would just recommend that adopters have annual bloodwork performed to monitor her RBC and kidney values. Non- regenerative means the cat has a persistent mild anemia and we don’t have a reason/diagnosis. It’s improved and she’s doing very well" She is a sweet cat and we don't see any reason to deny her the opportunity to find a forever home. Tammy came to us from the trailer park where she lived outside for a few years. We removed her when the new management was determined to remove the community cats and they threatened to press charges if we were caught feeding them. Tammy is a beautiful cat and she will let you pet her on her own terms. It is heartbreaking to see her choose to stay in her condo all day because she is overwhelmed with all of the cats in the office. She is very receptive to individualized attention and will rub against you and ask for love. You can tell she really yearns for interaction and affection. She is between 4-5 years old, has beautiful tabby markings, and so graceful when she does leave her condo. She would do best in an adult only home with maybe just one more cat or no cats. Macaroon is a beautiful young tabby girl that was left in a crate with 4 other cats the same age (under a year old ) at our front door. Macaroon has now been with us for over a year, she is about 2.5 yrs old. Macaroon is very cute. She’s tall and slender and loves to chat. She’s friendly and seems to adjust easily. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, fiv/leuk tested, and dewormed. Macaroon is now in foster care and doing great. Joanie came to us from the trailer park in December 2024. We had been feeding her there for the last 4 years. But the new park owners decided they did not want cats in the park and so we brought Joanie to our office. While Joanie is shy, we have been pleasantly surprised of her progress. She allows us to pet her and even pushes her face into our hands for petting and scratches. She has the cutest little fat face and has such a tender soul. When you approach her, she usually ducks, but is willing to sit still for you to pet her. Her life at the trailer park was hard as most people there are not friendly with animals and she is learning to trust . She has become so brave. She eats with the rest of the office cats, and lays wherever she wants which demonstrates her willingness to fit in and trust her surroundings. Selena is a young tabby cat. She’s been under our care for 3 YEARS now and has really blossomed. From a once tiny hissing bundle of fur to a slightly larger affectionate and shy cat. Personality wise she’s like shy but once she picks you as her human you will become her world. She loves to cuddle and play with her standard humans. Her favorite toys are string toys and pompoms. Pricilla is a 1 year old female with the most stunning green eyes and beautiful tabby markings mixed in with her white patches. She was rescued from a trailer park (and in good time as she was already pregnant), and she showed a willingness to be a great addition to a family. This little girl is shy but craving attention. Celine came from the trailer park. She was a stray and it took a long time to trap her. She's only about 3.5 years old but the vet says she has had quite a few litters. This is unfortunately the life of a stray. Once we trapped her, we could not release her because she is super sweet and very adoptable. So we decided to try to find her her forever home. She's quite chill and small and just adorable. She gets along well with the other cats, has a cute meow, and would do well in a quieter home. This is what her foster mom has to say about her: "Your heart CAN’T go on without this sweet girl! Celine lives up to her namesake- she LOVES to sing and chat with the humans in the household (with perfect pitch I might add)! She is a true lovebug and wants to be by her human(s) constantly being pet. Belly rubs are her favorite, and she is an air biscuit connoisseur! She can be a little bashful at first, but give her a few minutes and her playful instincts kick right in. Throw in some catnip toys and you’ve got yourself a party! Stormi was rescued on the coldest day of the year in 2024. Stormi is about 7 years old and has a typical tortie personality. She is totally devoted to her foster mom and always likes to be near her. Her favorite place to be is on the sofa pretending to watch tv. She also loves to be on her perch by the window watching the birds and squirrels. Stormi is a deep sleeper and thinker. She likes to curl up next to her foster mom on the sofa. But she's also kinda clumsy, sometimes she falls off the sofa and the bed. Her foster mom tries not to laugh but can't help herself. Stormi is selective of her friends. She tolerates the younger kittens/cats but doesn't interact with the other cats in the household. The also tend to pick on her. So, you could say that she isn't very social. She's a quiet girl and it took her a long time for her cute personality to shine through. She doesn't like to be picked up and protests the whole time but her foster mom does it anyways. Stormi has become fast friends with Alicia, another foster cat, and they play and do zoomies. If you are looking for a little cat with a big personality, look no further! Ophelia is a feisty spunky girl with gorgeous torbie markings and stunning green eyes. She came to us as a stray at about 6-7 weeks old, shy, hissy, and shut down. After a few play sessions, her foster moms won her over and she quickly showed her vivacious personality. She is very curious and VERY playful - she is go go go constantly until she crashes and naps for hours. She is obsessed with her foster brothers but she is still learning her manners, so she will need a playful buddy who won't shy away from a good rough wrestle session and isn't afraid to tell her off when she is being over the top. So far she has done very well with her foster dog brother - she seems to think he is just a large cat and tries to get him to play with her (much to his dismay). She is also quite affectionate. She makes the cutest little squeaks when she's talking to her foster moms, and her purr motor runs basically 24/7. She loves to take naps on her foster moms and purr herself to sleep. Octavia is a big ball of energy in a small package. She loves playing with other cats and people.
