Inside, she's calm and mellow, though her favorite pastime is gazing out the windows, where she may get a bit excited by the sights she sees. She enjoys being close to her humans but is also happy to observe from a distance. She is learning commands and understands "no" but still needs a treat to reliably come when called. She will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard. While she's only been with her foster family for a short time, we're already seeing great progress. Sadie had an unfortunate run-in with a car as a youngster, but other than being a bit slower to get up, you wouldn't notice. She walks politely on a leash and enjoys walks, but she would not be a good candidate for long walks or runs. She's a happy girl, wags her tail often and tells her humans she needs to go out by coming up to them and barking. She barks with interest as she approaches other dogs in the neighborhood, but Sadie has not had the opportunity to be off leash with them. The cat in the household quickly left the area when it saw Sadie, and Sadie did not chase it. She is a good "watch" collie, barking at the door when someone knocks but greets people well. Before coming to Almost Home, Percy lived with many dogs and didn't get much one-on-one attention, so she still has much to learn. Percy is very smart.
