Oreo
Adult • Female • Medium
Sweet little Oreo had been living outside during the winter. People in the neighborhood put food out for her and she gratefully accepted any scraps of food she was given and wandered away to find shelter under a bush or shed. She never complained, never tried to push in, never cried, she purred when she was petted and accepted the food she was given from the people in the neighborhood. She knew people were good but she knew she wasn't wanted so she accepted what she got and was a good girl and left when the door to the warm homes closed. Then on a very cold night in January, something happened to her....she was hurt and she couldn't use her foot. Her leg and paw hurt. She made her way to the first house and there was no food, and then to the house that always fed her and the door opened and the nice lady came out with food. It was cold, snowy and windy....but the nice lady was there with food. Oreo hopped over to the bowl and knelt down to eat. The nice lady saw that she was hurt and picked her up and carried her into the warm house. Oreo was so happy. There were several other cats in the house that weren't happy to see Oreo but Oreo didn't care she felt safe and warm. Oreo's rescuer couldn't leave Oreo out in the cold with a hurt leg that she couldn't walk on so she contacted PetPromise and agreed to foster her while we looked for a forever home for her. Her leg and paw are now healed and she was spayed and vaccinated and tested and she is the sweetest little girl. She is so thankful just to be inside with people. She is staying in a small room in the foster's home and loves everyone she meets. But she is afraid of the dogs and cats in the home. (She had to survive on her own outside so she is afraid.) She needs a home of her own where she can be loved and where the other cats (if there are any) are gentle and kind to her.) Can you one your home and heart to this sweet thankful little tuxedo girl. She will be your best friend if she is given the chance to be someone's girl. If you can promise to love her forever, please complete an online adoption application at: https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046
Killian
Adult • Female • Medium
KILLIAN DOB: Approx. 10/10/2022 Female, 11 lbs. She is one of the three musketeers from the Sawmill Rd. rescue. Killian along with Merida and Cheese had been huddled together and formed a bond to stay alive living near an apartment complex off Sawmill Rd. They hid from people and came out for food that people left for them. They moved quietly not bothering anyone but watched longingly as the other pets sat in their warm homes all winter and had the food and water that Killian and Merida and Cheese only dreamed of. Killian is the most scared of the three. She has a congenital defect in the iris of her eye. Our vet felt that she still has sight and that she is not in pain…but when she looks at you with her little squinted eye … she looks like a little pirate. She is still very afraid of people. But she too is curious. She follows her foster family around from room to room and sleeps in the bedroom when they sleep….staying just far enough away that she feels safe. This poor girl was said to have had several litters out there on her own…and most said that none of her babies survived. Today she is a happy girl, often playing with Merida or Cheese…and she knows she is safe and loved…even if she isn’t ready to trust us yet. --- If you are interested in learning more about this sweet kitty, please complete an online adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046 We do not have a shelter or sanctuary. Cheese
Adult • Female • Medium
CHEESE DOB: ~09/20/2020 Female, 11 lbs Cheese had been living outside on her own hiding around the dumpsters near an apartment on Sawmill Rd. She had been seen living there eating whatever she could find and hiding under and around the dumpsters and under the pine trees for over a year. Finally a resident in the area begged us to help this poor girl as she slept in a nest of snow near the dumpster. We trapped Cheese and she was very scared. She had been outside for a long time. She was afraid of people and afraid of everything. Since she has been in foster care she has come a long way. She watches people, follows them around, and is very interested in them. But she remains coy and while she will smell your hand if you extend it to her….if you try to pet her she moves away. She has a lot of kitty friends at her foster home and we are hoping that someday Cheese will know that she is very loved and that she will feel safe enough to share her heart with us too. --- If you are interested in learning more about this cat, please complete an online adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046 We do not have a shelter or sanctuary. Phoebe
Adult • Female • Small
PHOEBE DOB: ~05/20/2018 Female, 5.8LB (little thing) Phoebe is the littermate of Fiona and Phoenix. She along with her littermates were just kittens when their owner was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We don’t know what she went through in the first year of her life but she lived with her owner and over 20 other indoor cats and kittens and over 40 more cats that lived outside in the yard and used the garage for shelter. When we caught Phoebe she was very scared and hungry. Her owner had passed away and all of the cats and kittens that she had cared for over the years were suddenly alone without food or anyone to care for them. PetPromise rescued Phoebe along with 73 other cats and kittens in 2018. Phoebe was part of a group of kittens that were spayed and neutered and were deemed adoptable. (Many of the kitties were TNR’d and moved to barn homes while over 46 were deemed adoptable.) Unfortunately, Phoebe was very shy and she was not adopted quickly. She has been living in her current foster home since early 2019 and is a sweet little girl who loves to be petted once you earn her trust. She is very loyal to any person that she trusts. She loves pets and cheek rubs but would rather not be picked up. Phoebe is a very tiny and special little girl. --- If you are interested in learning more about this cat, please complete an online adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/251950332045046 We do not have a shelter or sanctuary. STORMY LYNNE FEMALE DSH SILVER GRAY DOB: 12/02/2017 Stormy Lynne was a sweet little girl when she was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in Gahanna. She is very is very tiny and petite and is gentle and soft and sits quietly waiting for someone to pay attention to her. She will take time to get her to trust Smyth…she may cringe when you go to pet her but once you start petting her…she is so happy. She purrs, stands up, rubs her face in you…she is so happy. NOTE: PetPromise requires that young kittens be adopted in pairs unless you have an existing kitten or young cat at home. This policy is intended to ensure that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development. Most rescue groups have similar policies regarding kittens.  Click here to learn more about why this is important: http://petpromise.org/singlekitten Also, PetPromise requires all pets be spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated before adoption. However, if you are interested in a particular kitten you may apply to adopt the kitten and once approved, you may enter into a Foster to Adopt Agreement whereby you agree to foster the kitten for PetPromise until PetPromise has the kitten fully vaccinated and spayed. Once the vet care is complete an official adoption will be completed.
