GOOD BOY ALERT!!!! ROWDY is a 6-7 year old mixed breed who weighs 69 lbs. This big boy looks like a mix of Chesapeake Bay Retriever with maybe a bit of Rottie but who knows? This handsome boy's dna test may agree or produce some surprises but he is 100% good boyThis great boy is House trained, Leash trained, Crate trained, and OBEDIENCE TRAINED!!! Rowdie has never met someone he doesnt like. Every new person is a new best friend! He loves other dogs, especially running and playing together. Running is Rowdies favorite thing. Well, running and chasing after tennis balls. He hasnt quite mastered bringing them back, but he has a great time. We recently brought him into the play yard with his buddy Hank and they both discovered the joys of the doggie pool. Ahhhhh. Rowdie does well with all people, but sometimes forgets how big he is. He is convinced hes a lap dog, which makes him an excellent cuddler. He would do well in a family with older kids due to his size. A fenced yard is a must! This very good boy takes treats gently. Champ is unique in every way. He's an affectionate tripod mixed breed . He is 4 years & 7 months old and weighs 44 lbs and housetrained! He loves other dogs and will be your shadow. Check out his video where it really shows how special Champ is! When Champ loves, he loves hard. He likes lots of attention - rubbing on his head is his favorite thing. He is mostly crate trained with only a little bit of whining. Champ doesnt realize that hes missing a leg and enjoys life. Hes very energetic and loves walks, running around outside, rolling in the grass, chewing bones and getting pets on his head. He's pretty mellow inside the house. He is not reactive to other dogs and not food aggressive. Champ has attended public events and was a star! He worked the crowd like a pro and proved to be an excellent fundraiser with his special vest. He was very friendly with his handler, the other volunteers and the other dogs. He does like to be around the action, so would thrive in a home where someone is home with him most of the day. That will give him the company he loves. Hi, Max here! They believe I am a Beagle Mix possibly with some shepherd in me. Of course, nothing is guaranteed without a DNA test, but I can say I am a bundle of joy and happiness! I am a tricolor which is black, brown and white. I've got super cute ears - one is up and one is down. I am around 3 years old, am neutered, weigh approximately 29 lbs. and have all my vaccinations. I got to hang out with one of the volunteers and he had such great things to say about me in that I am curious, friendly, and energetic. I also got to go to my very first adoption event and I had the best time with my handler and meeting all kinds of people! I gave out so many kisses and I think everyone loved them. I am also very gentle in taking treats from you, because you know a doggy just loves great treats! I am used to a home and lost mine when my beloved owner passed away. Socially I enjoy other dogs but I love having my human's undivided attention so would enjoy being the only dog in my home. Meet Ben, another one of our proud graduates of the North Central prison obedience program. Ben is a 2 year old Boxer mix who weighs a little less than 50 lbs. Ben has received 4 months of intensive training. He knows his 5 basic commands, Sit, down, stay, heel and come and walks great on the leash. As a young adult, he is very energetic and will do well in a home where he has a lot of space to run around and play. If he was able to, Ben would play all day. He loves balls and is very ball motivated. He may play with some other toys but if its not a ball he may only play with it for a few moments before moving on. He is a quick leaner and listens well. He is a sweetheart with a lot of energy. He can become a bit too excited during extensive play or during treat time which may result in mouthiness. His handler reports he has made excellent progress. When giving treats, a gentle "easy" works well. Older kids who can learn this technique would be a good fit for this loving boy. Meet Miles, an absolutely adorable 2 year old 35 lb mixed breed that has the most gorgeous smile, warm eyes and waggin tail. How can you resist that face! He adores the kids in his foster home and has done great with all children he has met publicly at events. Miles is crate trained and enjoys being in his crate for snoozing and when his foster family isn't around. He loves a car rides and does great in the car too (rides front seat and sits the whole time). Miles can be selective on his doggie friends and would love to meet any dog before living with them. What is his breed you say? We don't know for sure but think he looks like a Cattle dog or Carolina dog with those upright ears and curved tail. Meet Geronimo, one of our cherished dog hippos! Geronimo is a stout 4 year old mixed breed who weighs 70 lbs. He has the personality of an English bulldog - straight up tank that loves to play and doesnt know how big he is. He is very good on the leash. Geronimo is just an all around happy boy who loves life, is super friendly, and loves to roll around in the grass and get belly rubs. He loves to toss his toys in the air and then catches them! Our boy wasnt reactive to any of the dogs he saw. He was focused on going out to the play yard and getting attention! Buckley is a 5 year old male tan mixed breed that weighs 36 lbs. He has a cropped tail, upright ears and a stocky build so our first guess was Corgi, but his legs are not short so there is something else there. Carolina Dog? Kelpie? Who knows what a DNA test will show. We just know he is a 100% handsome boy. Buckley came to Canine collective as a puppy with his "sister" Bella (28 lbs) and they were adopted together. They were found together, but we're not sure they are really related, have different dads, etc but it is obvious they are very attached. They have always been together since puppyhood and we want to keep it that way. They lost their home through no fault of their own and just want to find their new people. Buckley is a energetic, loyal and excitable boy. He will let you know if he needs to go outside, wants food or a treat, or needs his belly rubbed. He isn't always trusting with strangers but warms up quickly once he knows someone is okay to be in his space. Buckley gets anxious around wriggly toddlers since they typically havent learned boundaries yet, so we think he would do best in an adult only home or older respectful children. With his canine sister Bella of course. He is ok with cats in the home but Bella is the only dog he needs. Buckley and Bella have been to a number of adoption events at local petstores and did great. They stuck close to their handlers initially, but soon were greeting new people who approached respectfully. With each new event they attended, you could see them getting more comfortable with the new sights and sounds and soon were smiling into the camera for their photos. They enjoyed exploring the store together and did not shoplift! Their perfect home would be a quiet one with a fenced in yard where they can relax and nice comfy couches to cuddle. Do you want a dog that is obedience trained and is good with other dogs? Meet Boze. Boze is a little over 3 years old and weighs 51 lbs. We think he looks like a retriever mix with maybe some black mouth cur but cant be sure without a dna test. Boze is a proud graduate of our North Central Correctional Institute Obedience program. His handler said Bo is a very good dog - he loves to play with toys, and he's very good with other dogs. He gets excited when he sees other dogs and will try to pull to them. He has good house manners and loves to be loved on. He has the softest fur and has huge, clean, and really soft paw pads. Boze is very food and toy driven and can be vocal when playing. Like a kid he will try to figure out how to get what he wants, so we think he would do best with a strong handler who will earn his respect. He is okay on a leash, but he likes to try to lead the way. Boze has a lot of character, and whoever is lucky enough to get him will have a best friend that they love very much. Meet Ronald, a small 6 year old terrier mix who weighs about 14 lbs. Ronald comes from Pike county and is adjusting to life in central ohio. He is a little shy, so patience is key to this little boy's heart. Just sit by him and he will approach you out of curiosity and start sniffing you to see if you're ok. He enjoys being around other dogs too, especially dogs his own size. He was chosen to arrend a pet store event and just was so happy cuddling in the soft blankies. Meet Cooper, a young (about a year, maybe a little less) 46 lb chesnut mixed breed who walks great on the leash! Were not sure of his exact breeds but warning his feet is as big as an adult hand, so he likely has some growing to do! He has the most gorgeous golden eyes. This Very Good Boy is already a little GQ model and was a dream for our photographer during his photo shoot. He made faces for the camera and did a little running to show off. Our boy initially was a little shy, but of course warmed up quickly once the treats came out. He loved being out in the warm sunshine, rolling in the grass, ice cubes and being hand fed water too! He didnt seem interested in toys, just being near the people and being next to them. He was very curious when people or other dogs were outside the enclosed play yard, but was just content to watch and was not reactive at all.
