SHEP***foster or adopt***
Adult • Male • Large
***FOSTER OR ADOPT*** Shep is a stunning shepherd mix who at at 8 years old, has the heart of a playful pup. He is a goof who loves toys, treats and belly rubs and is full of life, affection, and tail wags. Shep is currently struggling with the stress of kennel life and really needs a calm, loving home where he can decompress. He would flourish in the quiet and attention available in a home. For that reason, he is available to foster as well as adopt. Shep weighs 68 lbs but not to worry. This more mature gent has good manners, doesn't jump, and takes treats gently. He is really sweet, listens well and pretty low energy for the most part. Check out the video in his profile where you can see more of his personality. Our volunteers took him out for a nice walk and got a glimpse of the amazing dog he truly is. He also went on a day out of the kennel at a fabulous sniffspot and boy, did he have a great time! He loves to swim and he pretty much ignored the dogs around him. He is a different dog away from the kennel. Check out this fabulous video of his day out!! Won't you give this mature guy a chance? Shep can be picky about his doggy friends so if you have a dog in the home, bring them to meet n greet to see if there are get 8 paws up. He gets barky around the kennel but when he is out and about he is well behaved around other dogs. Foster or adopt this sweet boy and help him become the happy, relaxed companion hes meant to be. If you think a handsome boy that is past that frenetic stage could be for you , apply at www.caninecollective.org.
Simba
Adult • Male • Medium
Meet Simba, the silly goofy boy with a big personality. If you like your dogs playful, athletic, affectionate, and camera ready, Simba just may be your boy! Simba is a 4 year old mixed breed - with his coloring our best guess is shepherd mix, but he is only 45 lbs so lets just say 100% supermutt. Simba is full of life and very entertaining! Take the toy box outside for playtime cause he wants to pick out his favorites of the day he especially likes playing fetch and tug. He loves the doggie pool especially lying in some ice. Simba is a also very talented ball player. He will amaze you with his athleticism in jumping up to catch the ball in mid air. Just check out the video in his profile to see his cute personality in action. Simba recently attended a Sandball Volleyball tournament and was very interested in the action. If he wasnt leashed he would have undoubtedly stolen the ball! Simba also has his very sweet side. He loves going on car rides and of course getting lots of attention from his people. He would be fine with older kids (10 and up) especially if they wanna play in the backyard or at a park. He knows the sit and stay command. He wants you to know he is not a fan of cats or vets. He does well with other dogs with proper slow introductions outside before entering his home and has done great with other dogs at social events in petstores. Simba is an active boy who would thrive in a home that will take him on plenty of walks and has a fenced in yard where they can play fetch. If you think Simba sounds like the boy for you, apply at www.caninecollective.org.
Bellomy
Adult • Male • Medium
Are you interested in an adult dog that is obedience trained, crate trained, house trained and loves to ride in the car? Meet Bellomy, a proud graduate of our North Central Correctional Institute obedience program. Bellomy is 6 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. He is a beautiful brindle color. His DNA results show Beagle, some bully, super mutt, and Collie! Plus a couple of small breeds like Min Pin and Pekinese to keep him a nice manageable size! Wow what a mix. Bellomy loves attention from people. He gets along well with other dogs. but a meet and greet is always recommended if you have another dog in your household. Our boy listens well to people he knows and is a very food/treat motivated. He is very smart and knows sit down, stay, come, heal, finish, roll over, play dead, crawl, sit pretty, and shake. When he first meets people, he will be extremely excited, especially if you have food or treats. Once he gets to know you, he will calm down and listens well. He also enjoys walks around the neighborhood and playing a game of tug-o-war. Bellomy has good manners. He doesnt chew the furniture or clothes. He is very unlikely to jump on you. He only barks when hes excited about food and when you feed him, you can tell him sit/down and he will wait until you release him to eat. He is not a fan of bathes, but does good with baths and getting his nails clipped. Bellomy likes to play fetch and tug of war. He isnt extremely high energy and usually a 10 to 15 minute play session is good for him. Most of the time he really just wants to be cuddled up next to somebody. Bellomy gets nervous around the high energy of kids, so an adult only household would be perfect. This sweet guy is looking for someone to love. He loves to be with his people. If you're interested in Bellomy, apply at www.caninecollective.org.
