Truffle
Adult • Female • Medium
Meet Truffle! Age: 1 year, 8 months Sex: Female (spayed) Weight: 43 lbs Looking for a fun, intelligent, and dog-social companion? Meet Truffle—a sweet and spirited girl with a love for learning, playing, and lounging in baby pools! Truffle is social with both familiar and new people, though she leans toward independence. She’s not clingy—but she loves having a job to do! This smart cookie thrives on engagement with her handler and enjoys working through new tricks and training exercises. If you’ve been dreaming of a dog who actually loves training, Truffle’s your girl. In playgroups, she’s a total rock star. With over 50 successful play sessions, she’s shown she loves rough-and-rowdy play, with a healthy dose of run-and-chase. She’s even been used as a helper dog to guide other dogs who are shy or unsure of how to play. Her calm confidence helps bring out the best in her canine companions. Truffle did show some mild fear around environmental noises and leash walking during her initial evaluation, but with time outside the kennel and regular exposure, she’s adjusted beautifully. Any nervous moments now are brief, and she rebounds quickly. And did we mention she's a pool girl? Nothing makes her happier than a sunny day and a splash in the baby pool. ?? Truffle would thrive with an adopter who enjoys teaching new tricks, keeping her mentally stimulated, and providing her with lots of playtime and canine companionship. She’s sweet. She’s smart. She’s silly. She’s Truffle. And she just might be the perfect fit for your home. ?
Pearl
Adult • Female • Medium
Meet Pearl Age: 1 year Sex: Female (spayed) Weight: 38 lbs Pearl is a petite, pretty black-and-white pup with a heart as sweet as her smile. Rescued from a cruelty case earlier this year, this brave girl has come a long way—and she’s ready to find a loving home that matches her gentle soul and playful spirit. Pearl can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but give her a moment (and a treat or two), and she’ll cautiously approach to say hello. She blossoms with the support of doggy friends and is much more confident and relaxed when other pups are around. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your loyal shadow—whether curled up on the couch or trotting beside you on a walk. She loves leaning into pets, especially under the collar scratches, and shows her affection in the sweetest ways. When it comes to other dogs, Pearl truly shines! She’s an all-star in playgroups—having participated in a record-breaking 110 play sessions! She loves rough-and-rowdy chase games and is great at adjusting her playstyle to match her canine companions. Her calm, inviting energy even helps other shy or fearful dogs come out of their shells, which is why she’s served as a helper dog at our shelter. Pearl’s silly side comes out when toys are involved—she loves frolicking around, tossing them in the air, and enjoying every playful moment. Pearl would thrive in a home with a patient, kind adopter and a resident dog to help show her the ropes (and share in the fun!). She’s looking for someone who can offer her gentle encouragement, understanding, and the space to continue building confidence at her own pace. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loving, loyal, and playful pup—Pearl might just be your perfect match. ?
Nectarine
Adult • Female • Medium
Meet Nectarine! Age: 3 years Weight: 43 lbs Sex: Female (spayed) Nectarine is the perfect blend of sweet and mellow with just a splash of silliness. She may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she’s a total sweetheart — and she absolutely shines in a home environment. During an overnight sleepover with a volunteer, Nectarine showed off her best houseguest behavior. She was calm, quiet, housetrained, and an all-around couch potato. She slept in the human bed like a pro, rode perfectly in the car, handled the elevator like a champ, and enjoyed lounging on the patio. As her sleepover buddy Tracy said, “She is lovely! Walks great, so sweet!” At the shelter, Nectarine has been a rockstar in playgroup — participating in 20+ playgroups! She loves low-energy bouncy chase games and gets along well with other dogs. She's got excellent leash skills, a calm demeanor, and a gentle heart that makes her an easy companion. If you’re looking for a quiet, affectionate, playful pup who’s already got the house manners down, Nectarine is ripe for the picking! Medical Notes: Nectarine came to us earlier this year from a cruelty case. Upon arrival, she tested positive for heartworms, which has been fully treated in our care. No further treatment is needed beyond routine annual heartworm testing. She also tested positive for Babesia, a microscopic parasite that affects red blood cells. While she’s doing great, she will need two follow-up blood draws to confirm a negative status — our shelter will fully cover the cost and send out the testing.
Azalea
Young • Female • Medium
Azalea is a total sweetheart who’s been waiting way too long for a family of her own. She spent most of her young life in a shelter, but you’d never know it—she’s all love, wiggles, and good vibes. Now thriving in a foster home, Azalea has shown just how ready she is for her adoptive family. She lives with an older lab and is very respectful, enjoys cuddle and nap sessions with her foster family, and loves meeting new people. Her affectionate, easygoing nature has truly blossomed in a home environment. This girl lives for human connection. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Full-body pets? Don’t stop. She loves being right in the mix and is always ready to shower her people with love. While she enjoys chasing after balls and tossing around her stuffy toys, she’s happiest just hanging out with her humans. Azalea is also a fantastic dog friend! She’s got a great play style—whether it’s rough-and-rowdy or low-key, she can match the energy. She’s been super easy for medical handling, which makes vet visits and bath time no big deal. She’s a big fan of water too—on warm days, you’ll find her lounging in the kiddie pool like she owns it. And on a recent offsite trip to a car dealership, she had the best time meeting new people and soaking up all the attention. While Azalea is incredibly loving and social, she has shown some fearfulness around small children during a past meet and greet, where she was hesitant to enter the space. Because of this, we’re recommending a home with older kids or adults only to help her feel safe and secure. Azalea’s the kind of dog who just makes you smile. Sweet, playful, and full of heart—she’s ready to find her person and start her next chapter. Could that be you?
Cobalt
Adult • Male • Extra Large
Meet Cobalt! ? Age: 5 years Sex: Male (neutered) Weight: 104 lbs (working toward a healthier 80 lbs!) Cobalt is truly one of a kind — a total staff favorite who melts into a puddle for belly rubs and gives the most heartwarming hugs. He’s got the whole “gentle giant” thing down to a science — sweet, soft, and just wants to be close to his people (preferably snuggled up on a couch). This lovable big guy is all about the chill life. He’s not much of a playgroup pup — he’d rather have space to do his own thing and coexist calmly with another dog. He’s met cats too, and while he showed some playful curiosity, he was able to coexist peacefully with them. Cobalt knows how to sit and shake, is crate trained, and has a loose, wiggly energy that makes everyone smile. He thrives in a home with a cozy yard to lounge in and people to adore (and be adored by). He loves office time and will happily curl up by your feet for hours. Cobalt does have mild hip dysplasia, which has made things a bit tougher for him with his weight gain. He's currently on a diet and would benefit from a structured weight management plan to support his hips and overall health. While he does have occasional stiffness or discomfort, he’s still full of love and life — just needs someone willing to help him feel his best. If you're looking for a big-hearted, low-key snuggle buddy who will steal your heart (and possibly your couch), Cobalt might just be your perfect match!
Darbus
Adult • Male • Medium
Meet Darbus Age: 1 year Weight: 37 lbs Gender: Male Darbus is a sweet, toy-loving pup who’s learning more every day about what it means to be a dog—and how wonderful it feels to be loved. At just a year old, he’s already come so far and is starting to show his soft, affectionate side. While he’s still figuring out how to enjoy snuggles and relax fully into companionship, he’s becoming more and more affectionate with the people he trusts. He absolutely adores his toys and is happiest when showing them off or playing a game of fetch. Darbus loves making his own fun—bouncing from one toy to the next and always up for a little game of “trade” with a treat or a new toy. Darbus also enjoys spending time with other dogs and has shown friendly greetings and a love for energetic, physical play. He’s still learning how to navigate doggy friendships and sometimes gets a bit overly excited, but he’s doing a great job learning what’s appropriate with the help of patient handlers. Rescued from a cruelty case, Darbus is growing in confidence each day. He can be a bit shy at first and may startle at sudden movements or loud noises, but he’s incredibly resilient. With a gentle touch, a calm voice, and a loving home, Darbus will continue to blossom into the happy, loyal companion he’s meant to be. If you have room in your heart for a pup who’s still discovering joy, Darbus just might be the perfect match.
