Skid is currently in an Oklahoma rescue, and we’re seeking a home in a state where animals are truly valued. If for any reason things don’t work out, he will return to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new family is found. Skid is a 2.5-year-old male, possibly a Dutch Shepherd/Plott Hound mix, weighing 55–60 pounds. He has been with us since July 2023, after arriving at the local shelter as a 2-month-old puppy. He is heartworm positive (diagnosed June 2024) and is on slow-kill treatment. Despite his long wait, he remains a loving, loyal, and well-behaved companion. What you should know about Skid: Gets along well with other dogs. Loves to perch on his doghouse and makes a great watchdog. Enjoys public events and does well with children. Walks nicely on a leash. A little shy at first, but warms up quickly. Can be tested with cats upon request. Recently professionally groomed and handled it like a pro.
