She wanted them to be able to live the happy lives they had before she got sick. Opie & Jax are a bonded pair. They have lived together their entire lives. They are brothers, same father but different mothers. Opie can get jealous when Jax is getting attention, but they depend on each other for comfort. Sweetie Bell
Adult • Female • Large
Meet Sweetie Bell! With her super cool eyes and beautiful white coat, Sweetie Bell somehow found herself in a high kill shelter in Houston. Thankfully, her foster mom met her and instantly knew this girl was something special there was no way she could leave her behind. From the moment she arrived in her foster home, Sweetie Bell’s gentle, loving nature has shone through. She’s that perfect mix of puppy curiosity and laid-back charm. Whether she’s lounging on a dog bed while the family relaxes or out exploring the world on walks, she’s always radiating joyful energy. Sweetie Bell is doing wonderfully with her house training, sleeps soundly in her crate, and walks nicely on a leash. She gets along with every person and animal she meets and is not much of a barker. While she loves zooming around the yard and romping at the dog park, she’s just as content snuggling next to someone who loves her. She’s been around children and does great, although she can’t resist trying to sneak a kiss to the tiniest faces. At just 1 yrs old and about 60 lbs, Sweetie Bell is impressively chill for her age. But she’s still a pup and will thrive with a family who understands the needs of a growing dog; training, socialization, and plenty of love and activity. She’d make an amazing hiking buddy and rides beautifully in the car. If you think Sweetie Bell could be your new best friend, apply today: https://www.destinationrescuedogs.org/applications Sweetie Bell is being fostered in Houston, TX, but is available for adoption in many locations across the U.S. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Her breed is unknown our best guess is based on temperament and physical traits. But really, who needs a label when she’s this perfect?

Riley (The Land Hippo)
Adult • Female • Medium
Riley is a little land hippo. She is a piglet princess who loves hard. She was a discarded breeder mama who never was shown love. Due to this she can be a bit of a stage 5 clinger, but that just means you have a couch buddy, a bed buddy, a yard work buddy, a car buddy… she’s truly a ride or die. Riley went to a 5 week board & train and learned so much! She can still be weary of new people, but with Riley, once you’re in - you’re locked in! Riley lives and gets along with other dogs, but would do best with low key/submissive dog friends. She would be best suited to an adult only home (or home with older children), as she is strong and can sometimes be a bowling ball! She is potty trained & loves to chew her bones & keep herself entertained playing in the yard. She’s a medium energy dog who sleeps through the night & has so much love to give. She is approximately 4 years, 60 pounds and she is fully vetted. Riley is offered for adoption via Miracle Lane Farm & Sanctuary in partnership with Raising The Bar Animal Rescue. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MLFA/Dog RILEY IS FOSTERED IN TEXAS BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Debbie
Adult • Female • Medium
Introducing Debbie!! Deb’s story doesn’t start as a happy one. Estimated to be just 3 years old, she spent a documented 713 days in a local shelter. If you’re thinking, Wait… what?! Why?! Same here. The moment we heard about her, we ran to the shelter the very next day to get her out. Now that she’s in our care and in a loving foster home, the only explanation we can come up with is this: she’s deaf. But don’t tell Deb that because she has no idea she’s any different. Now onto the good part… Deb herself. This stunning red heeler girl is everything a heeler should be; active, playful, adventurous, and smart. Want a hiking buddy? A water loving trail companion? She’s your girl. Deb walks beautifully on leash and rides like a pro in the car. She’s incredibly intelligent, already knows some sign language (like “sit” and “paw”), and she’s super treat motivated, which makes her a joy to train. She’s also crate trained and fully potty trained! Because Deb is deaf, she doesn’t love being startled by dogs who get in her face or jump on her without warning. She can’t hear the social cues dogs usually rely on, so she thrives best with calm, respectful companions. Her foster family includes two chill Yorkies and a senior Aussie, and they get along great. No cats though her prey drive says that’s a hard pass. Debbie is a beautiful example of resilience. She’s got that classic cattle dog loyalty and velcro dog energy, and she’s ready to give her whole heart to someone special. What she needs now is a forever home committed to continuing her training, giving her the mental and physical stimulation her breed thrives on, and most importantly showering her with the unconditional love she’s never known. In return, she promises not to mind when you sing off-key in the shower. If you think Deb is your next best friend apply today! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog Deb is being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for transport around the country. Her adoption fee includes the cost of transport. Deb is estimated to be 3yrs old, is fully vetted, and weighs 43lbs.
Greta
Adult • Female • Medium
Sweet Greta is available for adoption! Talk about a happy go lucky girl! Greta loves loves loves people. She is silly, funny, sweet and such a good girl! Greta is in training and currently working on 'sit', 'down', 'place', 'stay', 'touch', 'leave it' and loose leash walking. She is dog friendly with dogs her size or larger and would do well with a playful and non dominant friend. She can resource guard food and toys (only from dogs, she does not do this with people), so it's recommended she is fed and given toys separately and not when she is out or playing with other dogs. She loves life and is ready to bring joy to her new furever family. Greta is estimated to be 2 years old, less than 45 pounds and is fully vetted. OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue.
