Smoke
Adult • Male • Medium
Helloooooooo!! My name is Smoke. My foster mom likes to make up songs about me, and sometimes she calls me Smokey, Smokey Bones and Smokestack. Life for me hasn't always been great..... My last person kept me chained on a very short chain in the kitchen or crated, unless they wanted to use me for a stud dog. Then, they stopped feeding me. I don't really know don't know why they did that to me. One day a lady calling herself a Guardian came and took me on a car ride. My owner told the Guardian that the neighbor had poisoned me, so they took me to the doctor. I was so happy to break free from those chains. Truth is, I just needed food, and love. The next day, I met my foster mom. Although she loves me very much, she tells me that I can't stay with her forever. She promised me that she would love me until my new person finds me. I have never really had the opportunity to be a puppy, so now.....I am making up for lost time. I loved the kids (3yrs & 11 yrs) in my first foster home, but I I'm going to need some time and patience so a home with older kids would be best. My biggest downfall is that I just get too excited and want to jump and get wild sometimes. I need a patient person/family that can give me lots of exercise and is willing to set boundaries and continue to work on my manners. I'm a big boy and I like to go full speed. I am not a fan of smaller animals, like cats. They look like toys, but they don't like when I play with them. I like some other medium to large easy going dogs but would require a slow introduction.
Clovey
Adult • Female • Medium
Clovey Female Age: 3 years Weight: 48 lbs Breed: American Bulldog Trial Adoption Eligible Hi! I'm Clovey. I am a cuddly and active girl who gets along with other dogs as long as we are able to meet with a slow introduction. I have not been around cats or kids to know how I would do around them yet. When I am out of my crate I will go to the door and let you know I need to go out. I am still working on my crate training as I don't like to be separated from my humans. My favorite snacks are hot dogs! I love those things. I also know the command sit and will come to you when you call for me. I enjoy the Bark Box fuzzy toys. I like to run in the backyard and play with my fur sibling and oh boy do I love to cuddle. I really love being around my humans and am a very loving dog when I am the one getting all of the attention. I cannot wait to find my very own active family who will give me all the love and attention I deserve and who will be patient with me as I continue to learn. To help me find the perfect match, I'm eligible for Cause for Canines' Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. If you are interested in meeting sassy and cuddly girl, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.
Sheeba
Adult • Female • Medium
Sheeba Female Age: 1 Weight: 33.8 lbs Breed: Hound Mix Hi! I'm Sheeba your future playful sidekick, snuggle bug, and zoomie queen! I'm a sweet, silly girl with tons of energy and an even bigger heart. I love to run, play fetch, and zoom around the house like it's my personal racetrack. If you've got a playful pup or kids (older kids would be best since I'm still working on not jumping when I get excited), I'm so ready to join the fun. I get along great with other dogs and kids! I haven't met any cats, but I'll be honest I'd probably want to chase them for fun, of course! I'm fully house trained and do a good job going to the door when I need to go out. I'm also learning crate time is okay, especially if other pups are doing it too it helps me feel more settled! I'm the type of dog who picks my person and becomes their loyal little shadow. Wherever you go, I'll be close behind (or curled up next to you for some serious cuddles). I already know how to sit, lay down, come, and get down and I'm always up for learning more, especially if treats or love are involved. I'd thrive best with an active family who's ready to keep up with my playful spirit and give me lots of love and attention. In return, I'll give you endless cuddles, laughs, and loyalty. If you're looking for a fun, energetic, and affectionate pup who will be your partner in crime and your couch companion, I'm your girl! If you are interested in meeting Sheeba, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.
Albany
Baby • Female • Large
Albany Female D.O.B. 02/27/2025 Estimated Full-Grown Weight: 65-75 lbs Breed: German Shepherd Mix Hi, I'm Albany! I'm a spunky pup & love to be in the middle of everythingespecially following my human around the backyard (Whatcha doing? Can I help?). I love chasing my tail & carrying around soft fabric frisbees. I'm spayed & crate trained. I need to be crated to keep me out of puppy mischief when you're away. Due to a congenital brain abnormality, I need someone very patient & willing to work with me long-term on developing skills like being housebroken & leash walking. Because my brain was custom-made just for me, I take a pill 2x daily to prevent seizures (which are under control with medicine). My motor skills are not fully developed so I will lack the typical coordination of an adult dog. I have an adorable & goofy gait, but I can still gallop across the yard when it's time for food or cuddles! I occasionally trip over or bump into things (crate doors, porch posts, human legs, etc.) so I need a home with very few stairs. I thrive on routines, so patterns like come in from playing, get a snack! & go potty, take my evening pill, go to my crate for sleep are good for me. My favorite pattern is: wake up from a nap, get belly rubs! I love to play with other dogs, but I don't understand when they are done playing or want to keep their toys to themselves. Those social cues are hard for me, so I'd do best as an only dog or with a very tolerant dog sibling who doesn't mind my unique (occasionally pushy) play style. I get along well with cats (I live with two now who give me space) & respectful kids. I'm full of joy & a whole lot of goofiness! If you're a patient person looking for a playful, talkative, loving little shadow with a unique sparkle, I might be your perfect match. If you are interested in meeting Albany, apply to adopt her at: www.causeforcanines.org. To help me find the perfect match, I'm eligible for Cause for Canines' Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. Adoption fee: $195. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 10 years old or older.
Hero
Adult • Male • Large
Hero Male Age: 3 years Weight: 65 lbs Breed: Bulldog/Lab Mix Trial Adoption Eligible Hey, I'm Hero but around my foster home, I also answer to Sweet Boy, Short King, Hot Dog, and Piggie. I wear them all with pride. I'm about three years old, recently cleared of heartworm (yay me!), and finally learning how to just be a dog. It's been a journey, but I'm figuring it out slowly learning to trust new humans, understand other dogs, and navigate this whole socializing thing with my ears up and tail wagging. I am house trained and crate trained and walk well on leash. I'm a chill dude. Like, shockingly chill. I don't get into things I shouldn't, I respect the cats (truly, I lounge with them), and I really just want to be part of your world preferably while holding your hand, licking peanut butter off a spoon, or sharing your morning snuggles. I've got a growing list of commands under my belt: sit, come, down, leave it, let's go, and place and I thrive on positive reinforcement (plus maybe a blueberry or two). I feel safest with gentle structure, clear boundaries, and humans who see how smart I am and keep my brain busy with puzzles, walks, training, and games. Some of my favorite things? Baseball (watching, not playing), yoga (yes, really), fenced-in backyards, long walks in any weather, lounging with my feline friends, and just being near my people. I'm not just a good boy I'm the good boy. The kind of companion who will quietly love you with his whole heart, make you laugh every day with his dumb little underbite, and show you what it means to be truly grateful to be safe, seen, and loved. If you're looking for a ride-or-die for the next decade or so, I'm your guy. Just be warned one look into my eyes mid-blueberry snack and you'll never be the same. Apply to adopt Hero at www.causeforcanines.org. To help me find the perfect match, I'm eligible for Cause for Canines' Trial Adoption Program! This gives approved adopters a chance to get to know me in their home before making things official. You must be an approved adopter to participate. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5+
