Leo
Young • Male • Medium
Meet Leo! This pup is an 9 month old, 45lbs, Australian Shepherd who came to us from a puppy mill. Leo spent his life in a small cage not socialized with people. After spending a few months in our prison training program he has blossomed into a regular, high energy pup !! Leo is still figuring out life in a home so will need a patient family willing to show him the ropes. He struggles with some separation anxiety so an adopter who will continue to work with him is a must ! (No destroying anything or causing harm! Just excessive barking when crated. He is not a candidate for apartment/shared wall living!) When Leo is properly exercised he is a great pup! He loves playing with other dogs and would love to have his own furry sibling around his size and energy level to hang with ! If you are an active person looking to give this guy his first forever home; please visit our website and complete an adoption application! https://www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables Leo is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped! He is also heartworm negative. Leo is good on a leash and knows his basic commands! He will need continued work with potty training and being in the crate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Toys are great. Balls? Yes please! Squeaky, heck yea man! Oh your hand is free? gimme some rubs! Jerry has been gentle with the 1 and 2 year old kids in his foster home and would be happy to live with some. Likes: squeaky toys, soft beds, BALLS!, playing with dogs of all sizes and cleaning crumbs from the floor. Dislikes: Cats (or maybe he likes them a little too much). Jerry is the perfect size at around 40 lbs. He doesn't really shed but has a beautiful semi-dense spaniel coat. He is an expert crumb cleaner upper and eager to please. He also likes to watch TV! Peter
Young • Male • Medium
Meet Peter! Breed: Greyhound mix Age: 1 year Weight: 50 lbs Size: Medium-Large (but his heart? XXL) Gender: Male Energy Level: Medium Bonded Pair: Must be adopted with his sister and best friend, Meg Peter is a gentle, affectionate, and goofy boy who has been through a lot and still radiates sweetness. Peter and Meg were part of an unplanned litter in rural Ohio. While their littermates found homes early on, Peter and Meg were left behind. They ended up in a shelter as young pups and stayed there until January 2025. Growing up in a shelter was tough, but it never dimmed Peter's sweet spirit. Peter and Meg have spent every single day of their lives together and share a truly special bond. They love to play, cuddle, and look out for each other. When Peter suffered a fractured tibia, Meg took on the role of Florence Nightingale, bringing him food, staying close, and always making sure he was okay. That love goes both ways. Peter's surgery was in March, and he's now fully healed with no restrictions. He and Meg are having an absolute BLAST zooming around the yard together. Peter's Personality: Nicknamed Sweetie Petey Pie, Peter is the definition of a lovebug. He adores belly rubs, snuggles, and being close to his people. He's a little calmer and less energetic than Meg, but don't be fooled, he can absolutely keep up when it's time to play. Peter is curious and goofy, but not quite as confident as Meg. He is a little apprehensive in new environments, but having Meg by his side helps to give him the reassurance he needs. He gives the cutest little smile when he's content with soft eyes and a gentle smirk that will melt your heart. Dog Friendly: Yes. Peter loves other dogs Cat Friendly: Unknown. Likely curious but we don't suspect he would harm the cat. Kid Friendly: Yes. Although Peter and Meg have quite a bit of energy and can be jumpy when exicted, they have had calm interactions with children. Apartment Friendly: No Fence Requirement: A fenced yard is required Crate Trained: Yes Housebroken: Yes Ideal Home: Peter and Meg are loving life in foster care and discovering all the joys of home living. Comfy couches, walks, toys, and snuggles. Their ideal home is one where they can be included in daily life, whether it's playtime in the yard, relaxing on the couch, or tagging along for an adventure. They enjoy each other's company and can entertain themselves, but they also love to be with their humans and foster dog siblings. While they are happiest together, Peter and Meg do just fine with short separations, and their forever family should continue supporting some individual time so they don't become overly dependent on each other. Peter Loves: Chest and belly rubs, being near his people, playing with Meg, going for walks, and exploring the backyard. Peter loves toys and treats. He is very food motivated and a quick learner! (especially if treats are involved with training!) Dislikes: Peter is serious about mealtime and knows when you're scooping his food. His ears perk up and he can hardly contain his excitement. He does not appreciate extended delays from scoop to serve! (Rude!) Double the love, double the fun: Meg and Peter are ready to show you just how rewarding adopting a bonded pair can be! Adoption fee is $500 for Peter and Meg as a pair. Fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/heartworm prevention, and heartworm testing (negative if over 6 months). Ready to meet your new best friends? Apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter. Once approved, we'll schedule a meet-and-greet with this sweet and silly duo!
Olive-OS
Adult • Female • Small
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Olive: Crowned Queen of Cuddles Prepare to be absolutely adored! Meet Olive, the tiny queen of cuddles and constant companionship, ready to rule your heart with gentle paws and unwavering loyalty. Olive's favorite place on earth? Right by your side! Whether she's melting into your lap for a dedicated cuddle session or simply napping on a cozy cushion nearby, she lives for human presence. Your shadow just found her purr-fect match! This sweet lady prefers the quiet life. Loud noises? Nope! Thunderstorms and fireworks are a no-go, so a calm, peaceful home is her ideal kingdom. Car rides aren't her jam either, but she loves a good walk or just chilling outside while you're tending your kingdom. Olive is a social butterfly... from a distance! She gets along well with other canine companions, as long as they respect her personal space (no unsolicited snuggles, please!). She'd be absolutely thrilled as an only dog, receiving 100% of your undivided attention. Her top-tier talent? Expert human supervision! She's always ready to observe your daily routines, offer silent support, and ensure you're living up to your full human potential. She's also a pro at letting you know it's potty-time with a polite little bark at the door once she's become accustomed to your home. We're not sure how Olive feels about tiny humans or feline overlords, so a home without them might be best for her regal debut. Olive eats twice a day (because a queen needs her meals!), and her one demand is to be treated like the absolute royalty she is. In return, she promises a lifetime of unwavering loyalty, quiet devotion, and more love than you can imagine. If you're ready to devote your existence to a constant, devoted companion who will brighten every single day, apply to meet your Olive today! Your throne awaits. Olive's adoption donation is $375, and she is being fostered in the Athens, Ohio area. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. She has also had a dental cleaning.PLEASE NOTE: If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances. If you go to the individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here: http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog. We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved. It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable. If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence. Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets. The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms. The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information. If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed. Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home. No application is approved prior to the home visit being done. At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer. We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.
Stella -OS
Adult • Female • Small
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Stella - A Tiny Diva with a Giant Heart! Stella is the kind of pup who turns heads and steals hearts. This petite, spunky girl has all the sass of a diva and all the sweetness of a loyal best friend. She came into rescue through no fault of her own when her beloved owner could no longer care for her due to health issues-and now she's ready to find a forever home that will cherish her for the little star she is. At first, Stella may approach new people with a bit of caution-she's thoughtful like that. But give her a little time and patience, and you'll quickly see her affectionate, shadow-you-everywhere side emerge. Once you're in her circle, she's yours completely. Stella adores being with her people and has a hilarious habit of climbing into chairs at the table so she doesn't miss out on the action-yes, she's basically convinced she's human, and we're not going to argue! She's also a top-tier cuddle buddy, always ready to snuggle in and soak up the love. She gets along well with other respectful dogs, especially those of similar size, and would do best with a calm companion who matches her energy. Stella has also done well with cats once properly introduced-she genuinely seems to enjoy their company. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys several short strolls a day. Stella does best when kept on a consistent potty schedule and thrives with routine and structure. While she doesn't like being outside alone, she'll happily stay by your side if you go out with her-she just wants to be where her people are. Because of her small size and more delicate nature, a home without children under 12 is required. Stella would do best with an experienced dog owner who can continue to help her build confidence and feel secure. If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and delightfully entertaining companion, Stella just might be your girl. She's full of personality, overflowing with love, and more than ready for the next chapter of her life-could it be with you? Stella's adoption donation is $450 and she is being fostered in Central Ohio. She has been spayed, microchipped, received her rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention.
