Lokma
Adult • Male • Medium
This is the best boy around, also known as, Lokma. This wondeful guy came to us through no fault of his own, but sadly after his owner passed away. Lokma has an estimated birthdate of 3/31/18, so he's about 7 years old. Even though Lokma has a bit of an adorably grumpy expression, he has a heart full of love. His furrowed brow and serious stare might make him look like he’s plotting world domination, but in reality, he’s a gentle, affectionate soul who wants nothing more than love and affection from his people. This adorable boy has quickly become a favorite of the staff and volunteers as he is just the goodest boy! He just has a knack for making us smile and we are completely smitten with this sweet tabby. Lokma has met several kitties at the shelter and he gets along well with all of them. He comes from a home with other kitties, so he's accustomed to having feline companions. This laid back boy is simply the best and never makes a fuss. He's an affectionate and flirty boy, who is more than ready for his loving forever home. He hasn't met any dogs since being at the shelter, so we don't know for sure how he feels about his canine counterparts, but we think he'd do okay with a slow introduction. He does better with older kids, so we think he'd prefer a home without small children. Would you like to meet the wonderful, Lokma? If so, please complete an application and once approved, schedule a meet and greet! West Jefferson, Ohio #hsmcohio Our adoption fee is $100.00 for kittens up to 6 months of age and $80 for cats 7 months and older. It includes: a microchip, spay or neuter, set of shots, de-worming, and a 1-year rabies vaccine (if old enough). Fees can be made by cash or credit card. Please go to our website, www.hsmcohio.org to fill out an application.
Grimlin
Baby • Male • Small
** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery** This is the cute as can be Grimlin! This dapper fellow was found as a tiny, abandoned newborn kitten, and thankfully brought to us by a kind person. This litle trooper has been bottle fed since day one and now he's big and strong and ready for his loving forever home. Little Grim has an estimated birthdate of 4/7/25, so he's about 13 weeks old. This little sweetie is still residing in his foster home, along with his amazing foster mom, who bottle fed him from day one. His foster mom says that he is just the sweetest boy, who is well socialized and all around lovebug. Grim is BIG on cuddling with his people, and will no doubt want to do that with his forever person or family. In addition to the cuddles, Grimmy loves pets and chin scratches too. His Grade A purr motor fires up just as soon as you touch him. This well rounded gentleman isn't into lounging and soaking up the love ALL the time, and loves to mix it up with lots of climbing and playing with toys. This little lovebug would greatly benefit from having furry friends in his forever home. We have LOTS of other kittens for adoption, and that would be the ideal arrangement for him. Kittens adopted in pairs do better long term, are happier and have less long term behavioral issues. Plus no one can play with a kitten the way another kitten can! Single kitten sydndrome is a real thing, and no one wants a kittenzilla in their home! Being so young, this cutie would do just fine in a home with other kitties or with cat-friendly dogs. Of course care must be taken to protect his small size. It's imperative to keep this little cutie from getting stepped on, injured by larger animals, or by small children who may be unintentionally rough with him. Sweet Grimmy is well socialized with dogs and he's a huge fan of kids, so he will make a wonderful addition to an active and fun-filled family. Would you like to meet the sweet as can be Grimlin, and hopefully another kitten as well? If so, please fill out an application and schedule a meet and greet once your application is approved! Remember that this sweetie resides in a foster home and is not at the shelter, so a meet and greet must be scheduled. Higgins
Baby • Male • Small
** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery** This cute little guy is the fun-filled, Higgins. Higgins and his brother Strider were found as stray kittens and taken care of by a kind person until we had room for them at the shelter. This cute duo has an estimated birthdate of 5/8/25, so they're about 12 weeks old. Higgins is the more rambunctious of the two brothers, and he thinks that he is the boss of things. These cute boys have been spending time with older kitties and running loose in our kitty playpen and they're learning how to "cat" with the bigger kitties. This is great for their socialization skills, and it helps little Higgins realize that maybe he isn't the boss after all! These two cuties love nothing more than running around the playplen, scaling the cat tree, playing with every toy in site (the current favorite being a ball tower), wrestling around with each other, and then crashing out for a great cat nap! These boys are great kitties and will make wonderful additions to any home. It's not a requirement that they be adopted together, but it would be ideal if it's possible for you to do so. Kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than single kittens, plus two lives are saved instead of one! Kittens adopted in pairs have less behavioral issues, and are happier and more well adjusted long term. They would fit in great in a home with other kitties, and being so young, they would do fine in a home with a gentle, cat friendly dog. They would do great with kids too. Just remember that these guys are still tiny so care must be taken to protect them from being stepped on, or accidentally injured by a child or other animal. Are you looking to add some kitten energy to your home? These little kitties are more than ready to provide just that! If you would like to meet Higgins and maybe his brother Strider too? If so, please complete an application and once you're approved, we'll call you to schedule a meet and greet! Franz
Baby • Male • Small
** In order to adopt a kitten from HSMC, you must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "foster to adopt" the kitten and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the kitten back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery** This mini cow cat is the sweet as can be, Franz. Franz's mom came to us VERY pregnant and gave birth to her babies in a foster home on 4/30/25, so he's 14 weeks old. Franz and his brother Hans and sister Evie all still reside in their foster home, and their foster mom says that they are just the best babies ever. Franz is the most laid back of the three siblings and there isn't much of anything that bothers this guy. Franz loves nothing more than wrestling and climbing up a storm with his siblings and then cuddling up with them for a nice, long nap. Their favorite napping spots are the window perches in their foster home. They live with several large, resident kitties, and they get along great with all of them. These boujee babies have requested that their forever home have a window perch for them so that they may continue their hobby of bird watching and napping in the warm sunshine. They are also big climbers and have been climbing cat trees and towers since they were little, and they have a blast on them. They have requested to have their very own cat trees in their forever homes too. They are also champion litter box users and cat scrather users! And when we say boujee, we mean it. These guys are well, a little spoiled, but with faces like theirs, it's hard to say no! Their foster mom says that they have great appetites when it comes to canned food, but that they will sometimes snub dry food. For now, their predominant diet is canned food with some dry mixed in, twice a day. They will likely eventually adapt to eating more dry food, but for now, they simply aren't fans. These littles have been around a lot of other cats since they were tiny and they will benefit GREATLY from being adopted together, in pairs or with another HSMC kitten. Kittens adopted in pairs do better long term, are happier and have less long term behavioral issues. Plus no one can play with a kitten the way another kitten can!
