Daffy
Young • Male • Large
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. __ Daffy is a 2 year old, neutered male, Plott Hound Mix, 65 pounds. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can be transported to an approved adopter. Daffy is a resilient boy with a heartwarming story. He was rescued from the euthanasia list at BARC in Houston, Texas, just moments before it was too late. Thanks to Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue and his incredible foster mom, Daffy got his second chance at life and is now ready to find his furever family. This fun-loving, playful guy thrives on activity and companionship. He adores playing with other dogs! To channel his enthusiasm, Daffy attends doggy daycare, where he’s made the honor roll! While his compatibility with cats is unknown, Daffy would do best in a home with other playful dogs and an active family who can match his energy. Because of his size and excitement, he’d be a better fit for a home with children over 10, as he sometimes doesn’t realize his strength when he gets excited. Daffy is fully house-trained and crate-trained, with his crate serving as his safe and secure space for meals. He loves his food so much that he uses a slow feeder bowl to enjoy it at a steady pace. Daffy also knows his name and will come running when called. He enjoys playing catch and spending time by his person’s side. Like any young dog, Daffy has some quirks. He’s still learning leash manners, as he tends to pull and zigzag, but he’s eager to learn with some guidance. When left unsupervised, Daffy may “relocate” household items to the yard, so crating him is recommended while you’re away. With patience and training, he’ll continue to grow into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be. Daffy is a loyal, energetic, and fun companion looking for a home where he can thrive. If you’re active, have playful dogs, and are ready to give him the love and guidance he needs, Daffy could be the perfect fit. He’s ready to bring joy and excitement to his forever family. Apply today to meet this all-around good boy! __ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him? Bear
Young • Male • Medium
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Handsome puppy Bear is an intact 5-month-old male Border Collie mix, currently weighing around 25 lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Puppies under 6 months of age are placed on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered. Bear is a loving, playful pup with a heart full of curiosity and cuddles! He's smart, eager to learn, and always on the lookout for his next big adventure. Bear gets along great with other dogs and adores kids—he’s the perfect playmate! Bear can often be found cuddling up with his foster mom, or his doggy foster siblings! He hasn't met a friend he doesn't like. His sweet and gentle nature constantly shines through, and he would love to give you all his warmth and affection in return for a wonderful forever home to call his own. Bear has even met some cat friends, and after some polite introductory sniffs, he let them be while he went off to continue his adventures elsewhere. We always recommend slow introductions to cats, but we suspect he would also do well in a home with resident cats. While he’s still young and mastering potty training, he's making great progress. He has already mastered the art of chew toys, and loves to entertain himself with his pile of toys. He also enjoys doing the zoomies with other dogs, and would love a playmate. With a little patience and a lot of love, Bear is going to make an amazing best friend for one lucky family, who we hope will provide him with regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment. For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away, as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs. If you work outside of the home longer than 4 hours, please explain who will be available to spend time with this puppy while you are away. If that information is not included, we cannot consider your application. NOTE: $100 OF YOUR ADOPTION DONATION WILL BE REFUNDED AFTER YOU SHOW PROOF OF FUTURE SPAY/NEUTER. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Dex – a nearly 2-year-old neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier with a heart as big as his smile! Weighing in at 45 pounds, Dex is the perfect medium-sized companion who’s ready to bring joy, loyalty, and a whole lot of love to his forever home. Dex is currently being fostered in HOUSTON, Texas, and is available to transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. This affectionate, goofy guy is a true cuddle champion. If you’re looking for a dog who will happily melt into your lap at the end of the day (or any time, really), Dex is your guy. He absolutely thrives on love, attention, and being close to his people. Whether it’s curling up for a movie night or hanging out on the couch, he just wants to be near you. Dex is great with kids and gets along well with other dogs, making him an ideal fit for a family looking for a well-rounded, gentle pup. His easygoing nature and playful energy mean he can keep up with family fun while still being respectful of boundaries and calm during downtime. He’s both house-trained and crate-trained, and while he’s a champ at holding it overnight, he does best with regular potty breaks during the day to stay comfortable. In the home, Dex is respectful, clean, and well-mannered—truly a low-maintenance sweetheart. When meeting new people, Dex can be a little cautious at first, but give him just a little time and he warms up quickly, showing off his sweet and silly personality. Once he feels safe, he’s all tail wags and gentle kisses. His foster family says he’s made incredible progress building confidence and loves being part of the action. Dex is eager to please and highly trainable. He’s already mastered “sit” and is always ready to learn more—especially if treats or praise are involved. He’s a smart boy who thrives with gentle guidance and structure. He also has no food aggression and is happy to share space and snacks with both people and pups alike. This boy enjoys the simple things in life—walks around the neighborhood, play sessions in the yard, and soft beds to snooze in after a little fun. While he’s not a high-energy dog, he does love regular activity and will happily join you on your adventures, big or small. Dex is looking for a loving, stable home where he can be cherished and continue to build on the great foundation his foster family has helped him grow. If you’re searching for a loyal companion who’s equal parts playful and snuggly, Dex might just be your perfect match. Reach out today to learn more about adopting Dex—he’s ready to bring warmth, joy, and plenty of cuddles into your life. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Trixie
Adult • Female • Medium
Say Hi to Trixie: The Playful Princess with Freckles and Floppy Ears! Adorable, adoptable, 3-year-old Trixie is a tri-color beagle with rich auburn accents and the sweetest sprinkle of freckles. Her long, velvety ears are her secret snooze button—give them a rub and she melts right into dreamland. Weighing 29 pounds and fully vetted and microchipped, she’s ready to charm her way into your life. True to her beagle spirit, Trixie is outgoing, curious, and full of joyful energy. She loves to play fetch (and yes, she brings the ball back every time!) and happily romps around with her foster beagle siblings. Her favorite way to start the day? A few glorious zoomies and a good squeaky toy session in the yard. She is house trained with regular outdoor breaks and is a pro at the dog door. She does well uncrated while her foster family is at work and prefers sleeping snuggled up in bed with her people—crate life is not her vibe, unless it’s for a smooth car ride. Leash walking is still a bit of an adventure—she pulls with enthusiasm—but a new harness and a little patience are all she needs to improve. Her ideal home would be active, have a fenced yard, and include another playful pup to share her toys (and zoomies) with. Trixie is the perfect match for someone who’s ready for a spirited companion with a heart full of love and an endless supply of fetch energy. Are you her forever playmate? If you have love and time and a fenced yard and think Trixie might be the one for you, please go to www.beagelsrus.org, read over the Adoption Process and then complete an application. PLEASE do not click the Start Your Inquiry Button on this page (thank you). We will be in touch to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet if you would like.
