IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Blondie, 7yr old, spayed female, Pitbull mix, 65 pounds. Blondie is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Blondie’s story is one of survival, strength, and second (and third) chances. After spending much of her life bouncing in and out of the San Antonio city shelter—or worse, fending for herself on the streets while raising litter after litter—Blondie was finally given a chance at something better. Most recently, she was rescued by a shelter foster after her final litter of puppies were adopted. But despite her motherly duties being over, she still found herself back in the shelter system, this time with a chronic upper respiratory infection (URI) that just wouldn’t quit. When she landed on the euthanasia list, we knew we had to step in. Though she’s an older gal, Blondie still has plenty of spunk! When she gets her paws on a plush toy, she turns into a one-dog show—tossing it up, flipping it around, and proudly showing it off like it’s her baby. She’ll often stare lovingly at her stuffed animals, entertaining herself for hours. She’s also a bit of a toy hoarder and has been known to lay on her prized possessions so the other dogs can’t steal them. ? While she lives peacefully with her canine foster siblings, she doesn’t seek them out and would be just as happy being your one and only. When she does interact with them, she’s friendly—but her toys are hers, and she kindly asks everyone else to respect that. Blondie hasn’t been around cats, but she lives with a 7-year-old child and does well, although she’s a strong girl and can sometimes be a bit enthusiastic with her love. For that reason, we recommend a home with kids 5+ who understand dog behavior and body language. She’s never shown anything negative, just lots of love and a slightly bulldozer-like approach to affection! She walks calmly on leash and rarely pulls. She’s been described as a “fantastic deadweight” when she’s not on board with the direction you’re headed—like the vet’s office, for example ?. Off-leash, she has great recall and stays close by. Her foster mom even says she helps bring in groceries and never leaves her people’s side. She has gone to some community events and SOAKED up all the attention! Blondie is fully house-trained and lets you know when she needs to go out by giving a good ol’ fashioned stare-down at the back door. She’s crate-trained but trusted to be loose in the house and has never had an accident. That said, she’s used to a family who’s home most of the time, so she’ll need a bit of grace to adjust if your schedule looks different. Food is Blondie’s love language. She eats every meal like it might be her last and has no shame in sneaking snacks from her corgi and lab siblings if they’re not careful. While she hasn’t shown food aggression, her meals are fed separately to avoid any drama. A slow feeder or puzzle toy could help pace her eating and give her some extra mental enrichment. Above all, Blondie is a total Velcro dog. She wants nothing more than to be near her people. She’s been described as the cuddliest dog her foster mom has ever had. She’ll drape herself over you, claim your arm as her own, and snuggle like a champ. At night, she sleeps beside her 16-year-old human foster sister, making up for all the love she missed in her earlier years. Blondie would thrive in a home where she’s the center of attention. While she gets along with other dogs, her dream scenario is being your one and only cuddlebug. She’s playful, silly, affectionate, and eager to please. She’s learning how to share, how to wait patiently for food, and how to give her humans just a little breathing room. But after the life she’s had, we get it—she’s making up for lost time. Could you be the final chapter in Blondie’s long journey? She’s come so far, and she’s ready to give her heart fully to someone who will finally give her the forever love she’s always deserved. Apply today and help Blondie write her happily ever after. ? ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Dolly, 5.5 years old, spayed female, Pitbull Terrier, 65 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and is ready to transport out of State once an adopter is approved!! Dolly is the definition of resilient and loving. Originally adopted as a puppy from a Houston-area shelter in 2021, she was heartbreakingly found as a stray at the end of 2024—returned to the very same shelter. Sadly, during those years, someone docked her ears. Despite that rough patch, Dolly remains one of the gentlest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Now in a safe, nurturing foster home, Dolly is truly blossoming. She gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in the house and absolutely adores people. Whether it’s cuddling under a blanket, curling up at your feet, or offering full-body hugs, she’s always close by, ready to love. Dolly is housebroken, rides like a dream in the car, and walks beautifully on leash. She’s a mellow, low-key girl at heart—but she still gets joyful zoomies and has the stamina for walks, outdoor time, or little bursts of play. Her favorite pastimes include chewing on antlers or nylabones, giving gentle kisses, and quietly soaking up all the love she can get. Dolly also shares her home with young children and is absolutely wonderful with them. She’s calm, patient, and gentle—soaking up all the attention, belly rubs, and love they give her. Her sweet-natured, easygoing temperament makes her a fantastic family companion who’s just as happy playing with the kids as she is snoozing nearby while they read or watch TV. She’s not a fan of the vacuum or thunderstorms (who is?), but she’ll calmly seek out her humans for comfort. And while she has no interest in swimming, she’ll happily sneak in a kiss if you’ve just gotten out of the pool! Dolly is truly a gem—affectionate, calm, loyal, and low-maintenance. She’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people and bring a sense of peace and love to their lives. If you’re looking for a steady, soulful companion with a heart of gold, Dolly is ready to meet you. Her forever family is out there, and she can’t wait to finally find them. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Precious: The Sweetheart Who’s Ready to Steal Your Heart! She's a 2.5 year old, 60 lb; spayed female, Shepherd mix. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can be transported out of state with an approved adopter. Precious has a story of resilience and hope. When her previous owners abandoned her, a kind gentleman stepped in to give her a second chance at life. Now, this loving girl is ready to find her true fur-ever home and bring joy to her new family. Precious is the definition of sweet and friendly. Her foster family can’t say enough good things about her! Despite living with resident dogs who are picky about their canine companions, Precious has seamlessly integrated into the pack. She’s a natural at picking up on social cues, making her a delightful addition to any home with other dogs. This charming lady thrives on love and moderate activity. Whether it’s a leisurely walk or some quality playtime in the yard, she’s up for it. Precious has impressed everyone with her impeccable manners—she walks beautifully on a leash, takes treats ever so gently, and even puts herself in her crate when she’s ready for a nap. Yes, you read that right—she tucks herself in! She rides great in the car and is friendly with everyone she meets. Fully housebroken and crate trained, Precious has also proven to be wonderful with young children. We were told the family who abandoned her, had multiple kids including young children. She spent some time at one of our foster homes who has a 3 year old and they can attest she is very sweet with kids! While we haven’t seen her around cats yet, her sweet and adaptable nature suggests she could do well with proper introductions. Precious does have one little quirk: she has a habit of stealing shoes! Her foster family occasionally finds them in her crate, where she’s proudly tucked them away like prized treasures. She’s working on this, and with a little patience and some shoe storage, it’s a habit that can easily be managed. This loving girl has captured our hearts, and we know she’ll capture yours too. With her kind spirit, gentle nature, and playful charm, Precious is ready to be the perfect addition to a lucky family. Could that family be yours? Apply today to meet this sweet girl and give Precious the loving home she deserves! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We really do not want to waste anyone's time as we are all volunteers. Butterfly, 2 years old, spayed female, Staffordshire Terrier, 60 pounds. She is currently in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS where she was rescued. She is excited to schedule a virtual visit to meet you! Meet Butterfly – a 2-year-old Pitbull mix with a heart as big as her smile and a name that suits her perfectly. This joyful, spayed sweetheart is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, and is available for out-of-state transport to an approved adopter. Just like her name implies, Butterfly moves through life with a light, bright energy that’s impossible to resist. She’s always ready to chase a tennis ball, show off her favorite rope toy, or simply soak up the sunshine. Her playful personality shines through in everything she does, and she brings joy to everyone lucky enough to meet her. Butterfly isn’t just fun—she’s also incredibly smart and curious. She learns quickly, especially when treats or praise are involved, and loves having a job to do. Her foster family is helping her work on polite greetings (she can’t help but get excited when meeting new people!), and she’s responding beautifully to gentle, consistent guidance. She’s also a total gem with other dogs—respectful of their boundaries, happy to play when they’re up for it, and equally content just hanging out and relaxing alongside them. Whether romping in the yard or lounging around the house, Butterfly is happy just being part of the pack. After a good play session, Butterfly transforms into a cuddly lovebug. She’ll melt into your lap for belly rubs and snuggles, content just being close to her people. Whether you’re up for a backyard adventure or a cozy movie night, she’s your girl. Butterfly is house-trained, crate-trained, and rides well in the car. She’s still working on her leash manners, so a patient, confident adopter who can continue her training will help her thrive. A moderately active home with a fenced yard would be ideal—she loves to run and play! She would thrive with a friendly canine companion but could also do great as a solo dog, as long as she’s given lots of love, attention, and outdoor time. Butterfly hasn’t had experience with cats or young children, so a cat-free home with respectful kids aged 10+ would be best. If you’re looking for a loving, dog-friendly, and snuggly best friend who will shower you with affection and fill your home with happiness, Butterfly might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to flutter her way into your heart—are you ready to meet her? ? ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
